Youth Art Month

The French Art Colony is proud to host the City School District Art Show.  Since 2007, we have collaborated with the art faculty to fill our galleries, halls and first floor classroom with creative originals from K-12 students. Each art teacher has the task of selecting the artwork for the show, as our site is simply not big enough to hold every class project.  Representing both Green and Rio Grande Elementary is art teacher Lolita Mullens; Instructor Jason Kunk, from Washington Elementary, completes the K-6 entries, and Terri Crothers and Mike Vigue bring both middle and high school artwork from the students of Gallia Academy.

In support of national Youth Art Month, the exhibit is held in March to increase awareness of arts curriculum and its influence on students’ academic achievements. The FAC supports this exhibit with youth programming and special community projects.
