July Festival Competition

For the past 41 years, the FAC has hosted a juried art competition for regional artists, accepting entries in Adult Amateur and Professional divisions in June.  In addition, there is a Youth competition.  The entire program is a highlight of the Annual Gallipolis River Recreation Festival, with selected artworks displayed in the City Park during the festivities (Art in the Park).  Jurors’ selections are also displayed in the FAC Galleries, a short walk from the City Park, allowing festival-goers and locals to make  selections for the annual “Peoples Choice” Award. 

Special invitations are sent to local businesses, organizations and collectors, to participate in the “Purchase Awards”, with the award-winning art pieces on display for purchase.  The competition provides great publicity for the talented artists in the Appalachian Region and beyond.
