Annual Festival Exhibit and Competition

For the past 40+ years, the FAC has hosted a juried art competition for regional artists.  Entries in Youth, Amateur and Professional divisions are accepted in June, and the entire competition highlights the annual Gallipolis River Recreation Festival, with selected artworks displayed in the City Park during the festivities (Art in the Park).  Juror’s selections are also displayed in the FAC galleries, a short walk from the City park, attracting festival-goers and locals to make a selection for the annual “People’s Choice” award.  Special invitations are also sent to local businesses, organizations and collectors to participate in the “Purchase Awards”, with the award-winning art pieces on display for purchase.  The competition provides great publicity for the art talent in the Appalachian region.
