July "Art in the Park" Youth Show a Success!

The FAC Annual Youth Art Competition had great response to the increase in categories and "People’s Choice" award voted on at the City Park this year. Sponsoring the event for 2007 is the Gallipolis Rotary Club, who make the competition a reality, providing cash awards in each category for "Best of Show" and all the ribbons awarded to each child!

With over 40 students participating, judges had a difficult time selecting the award winners. Gerry Enrico, a local artist and instructor for the FAC, and Lindsay Comer, also an artist, recent graduate of OU and summer instructor for youth at the FAC, judged all entries this year. With the increase of youth in Gallia and the surrounding area participating, the process became tedious, for every entry shined with pride and personal intention. Winners are on display thru July 31st in the first floor classroom "Youth Gallery". Congratulations to everyone who entered the competition, and we hope to see your talent again next year!
