FEB.1st – 26th "Suspended Animation" the works of Dave Snyder and Jessica Murphy. Snyder’s 3D metal sculptures capture the still form of birds and their simplified habitat, while Murphy captures the animated life of a red scarf in winter.

MARCH 7th – 30th "City School District Art Show" Featuring K-12 grade students from Lolita Casto’s Greene and Rio Grande Elementary art classes, Melissa Cornfeld’s students from Washington Elementary, and Terri Crothers & Mike Vigue’s students from Gallia Academy.
Help celebrate National Youth Art Month by participating in our youth workshops and viewing this fabulous show of local youth art talent!

APRIL 4th – 27th "Interpretations from the Ohio River", artist Jack Park. Park has a surreal sense of the normal, and precise visual movement with this collection of works in charcoal, pen and paint.

APRIL 30th – MAY 25th "Luce Perspective", artist Ron Luce. Luce, from Nelsonville, OH, demonstrates precise technique in landscapes and portraiture, while finding "painterly play" in the style of surrealism and cubism, sometimes on a large scale, through everyday subject matter.

Annual Events

Everything's...

MARCH 1st - (Ahoy, Me Hearties!) "Everything’s A Treasure" Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser. 6:30 - 10pm, Tickets are $15/each, $25/couple. "Treasures" from the areas most generous businesses will be on the auction block. Whoever’s got the gold, gets the goods!
Tickets on sale at the FAC.

Annual Dinner

APRIL 11th - French Art Colony Annual Dinner and Volunteer Awards Banquet @ the Holiday Inn, Route 7 Gallipolis @ 6:00pm. Tickets are $20/ person, and will feature a presentation by FAC director Carrie Napora, the election of new Board members, awards for our exceptional volunteers and entertainment by selected Dance Studio students and FAC Dance instructor Kristel Bowman.

Mothers Day Afternoon Tea

Sunday, May 13th from 2-4pm. Enjoy the afternoon in English tradition, with several different varieties of tea and finger foods.  This year two crafts will be presented, a wooden miniature birdhouse to personally adorn with paint OR a hands-on felting project making a felted flower.  Tickets are $5 per person for Tea, $5 for the birdhouse craft and $15 for the felting project (both projects are optional).  Reservations are preferred.

Entries for the 2007 juried July Festival Exhibit accepted at the FAC June 9th 1-5pm and June 11th 5:30-8pm.  Click Here for Entry Information

Art in the Park (Held at the Gallipolis City Park)

Youth show on July 1, 2007- All work submitted into the competition is displayed in the City Park as part of the Independence Day celebration. 

Adult show on July 4, 2007- All work submitted that is not displayed in the FAC galleries will be shown in the City Park as part of the Independence Day Festival. 

Bob Evans Festival

Come to the Bob Evans Farm Festival October 12-14, 2007 and visit the French Art Colony' s face painting booth... or volunteer to help!

BooFest

After Trick or Treat. A fun-filled evening for the entire family, BOOFEST keeps Trick-or-Treat night alive with dinner and spooky games & prizes, including the Cavity Award (most candy) and Best Costume. $5/ person.

Holiday Tour

The 13th Annual Holiday Tour will be held December 7th from 6-10pm and December 8th from 1-4pm. 

 

 

Music Events

Summer Salon Series.  Will feature either classical, jazz or folk/bluegrass (tba).  Tickets are $10/person and include great music, appetizers and drinks.  Concert at 6:30pm at the FAC.
